Hot 26 Yoga: Strong and Fierce Fall 2018 Series at Vitality Yoga

Join Crystal, Jessica, and Heather on Thursdays from 7pm-830pm at Vitality Yoga in Bentonville as they rotate leading Hot 26: Strong & Fierce – Fall Edition!

A perfect preface to the holiday season, Strong & Fierce is an 8 week low impact, non-vinyasa series featuring a HOT 75 minute yoga class, followed by a juice bar after class, and a chance to make new friends. Join us every Thursday beginning October 4th! A series discounted membership is available, or you may also pre-register for individual classes. ***If you are signing up for the whole series, select the first date to register and select the series discount as your payment option, we will then enroll you in all 8 weeks!!**

More about the series:

Hot Yoga 26 consist of 26 groups of postures plus two breathing exercises. By doing these yoga poses, you can exercise and invigorate all of your body by stimulating your glands, nerves, and organs and by improving circulation of oxygen throughout your body. Throughout the 8 weeks you may notice increased strength and muscle tone, improved flexibility in your spine and throughout your body, greater balance, and improved sleep, among other benefits.
Many of the poses are not typically practiced in a vinyasa or power flow class, so expect to be challenged in a new way! These are low impact poses that we will hold and repeat for a chance to get deeper into the pose each time. The room will be heated to approx 95 degrees, so bring a towel and water! This practice is appropriate for any level. Our teachers will guide you in a practice that is ultimately meant to be a meditative path to a stronger mind-body connection while nourishing your physical body.

Our juice bar will provide you with some vital nutrients after the challenging class and will encourage folks to stay after class to make new friends while enjoying juice!

$100 for 8 sessions supports the teacher and the studio, helps with juice bar costs, and provides a "series discount" (pay in advance)
OR
$15 per class supports the teacher and the studio and helps with juice bar costs (pre-register and pre-pay, as space allows--if there's space on eventbrite, tickets will still be available)
OR
Reach out to us if you need a different option – because we are dedicated to accessible yoga, we want to honor other opportunities for exchange, including payment plans and trades.

Teacher Intensive with Body Positive Yoga

Learn how to craft and language a yoga class that is truly welcoming for students of all shapes and sizes. This yoga teachers’ workshop will include both practical asana instruction and discussion. We’ll debunk stereotypes and discuss how to create an environment of safety, agency, and consent. We’ll also explore common challenges faced by larger-bodied students. Amber will speak from her experience as both a larger-bodied yoga student and teacher, and together we’ll build a toolbox to make your classes more welcoming and inclusive. Bring any and all questions that you might hesitate to ask your students about how to make the practice work for them – we’ll troubleshoot them together in this body-positive yoga lab setting.

A Day of Body Positive Yoga and Radical Self Acceptance

Vitality Yoga is so excited to be hosting Amber Karnes, creator of Body Positive Yoga

Body Positive Yoga Workshop 10AM to 1PM - This workshop is designed especially for big-bodied yogis who want to be empowered to step into any class with confidence, knowing they have the tools to make yoga work for their bodies. In this workshop, we’ll explore things like: How to keep your chest out of your face, twisting and folding when you have a belly, and other “sticky spots” like sun salutations and inversions. We’ll help each other find safe alignment and freedom in poses, learn to modify yoga to fit our bodies, and have some laughs along the way. Yoga teachers who’d like to learn modifications for your larger students are also welcome!

Radical Self Acceptance Workshop 3PM to 5:30PM - With thousands of images of “perfection” shot at us every day, it can be easy to compare ourselves with others and internalize the constant judgment and scrutiny of our bodies. Even during our yoga practice, it’s often easy to compare ourselves to the “ideal” body or look. Whether you’re at home, at the gym, at the yoga studio, or just moving around in the world, feeling self-conscious or even hateful toward your (normal! human! imperfect!) body is sometimes unavoidable. Drawing on mind-body, self-awareness, and practical self-care techniques, we’ll discover ways to boost confidence, get in touch with our inner badass, and foster a healthy self image. We’ll wrap up the workshop with an hour of body-affirming, beginner-friendly yoga.

REGISTER HERE FOR ONE OR BOTH WORKSHOPS!

Yoga teachers, make sure to check out Amber's yoga teacher intensive happening on Jan 7th!
